^{As you all know, we have to try to protect and preserve the environment the best we can. We have done many projects over the years that require filling wetland. In the state of Minnesota, if you fill wetland, you must then purchase wetland credits from a “wetland bank” to replace the wetland that was filled. We have done a few subdivisions where we have created new wetland on-site, which is called Wetland Mitigation. We also donated wetland on a site for walking trails and other nature activities. In 2002, the owner of Dirtworks Inc. (Steve Strandlund) was named “Outstanding Conservationist Of The Year” by the Anoka Conservation District for preserving wetland and a natural community forest in a housing development in Burns Township, MN.}
